Hunger Outreach Program
-
Starting each September, and continuing through May, Grace and many other Rock Hill churches purchase food, prepare, pack, and deliver approximately 200 meals to needy adults and children in Rock Hill every day. Grace does this on the first Thursday and Friday of each month. We need about 14 people each month to accomplish this project. Part of this ministry also includes working with other Rock Hill churches in providing and preparing a Christmas Dinner for the needy.
-
Interfaith Hospitality Network
-
Grace, in partnership with other York County churches and the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of York County, host homeless families for one week as often as the rotation occurs. The program offers the opportunity for members to volunteer their time and give of themselves in a variety of ways, such as purchasing food and supplies, preparing evening meals, hosting our guests during the evening hours, spending the night, setting-up and taking down the guest rooms, and whatever else is needed during the week.
For more information, visit the IHN web page.
-
Kairos Prison Ministry
-
Kairos is a ministry to prisoners within correctional institutions. It is a three day weekend which expresses the love of Christ in real and meaningful ways to men and women in our state prisons who have, in many cases, been abandoned by their family and friends and who have never experienced the love of Christ before. In addition to our annual donation to fund the ministry participation of 4 inmates per year, Grace members also provide home baked cookies for Kairos weekends twice each year.
For more information, visit the Kairos web page.
-
Malawi, Africa Outreach
-
Grace has entered into a partnership with the Evangelical Church in Malawi, Africa. This partnership involves an exchange of visits, providing resources to supplement their ministries, ongoing communication between the two churches, and occasional events to highlight the needs of these brothers and sisters in Christ. A special project within this relationship is the construction of church buildings in remote villages in Malawi.
-
Prayer Shawl Ministry
-
Grace members knit shawls to give to those who are sick or in need of comfort. Prayer shawls are a physical reminder that we are held in the loving arms of God! Baby blankets are also presented to newly baptized infants. Shawls are also shared with Hospice patients in the community.
