Below, you can read about some of the current outreach programs here at Grace Lutheran Church. If you feel called to participate in any of these programs, contact the church office for more details and to find out how you can help.
Family Promise-Interfaith Hospitality Network
Grace, in partnership with other York County churches and Family Promise of York County, host homeless families for one week as often as the rotation occurs (usually every 10-13 weeks). The program offers the opportunity for members to volunteer their time and give of themselves in a variety of ways, such as purchasing food and supplies, preparing evening meals, hosting our guests during the evening hours, spending the night, setting-up and taking down the guest rooms, and whatever else is needed during the week.
For more information, visit the IHN web page.
Clothing Collection Box
A box for the collection of good used clothing is located at the Aiken Avenue entrance. Flint Hill Baptist church picks up the clothing on a regular basis for distribution (free of charge) to the needy in Rock Hill.
Good Samaritan Fund
Grace uses the monies donated to the Good Samaritan Fund by its members to work in partnership with many of the service agencies in Rock Hill to provide supplementary funds for people in need. These agencies include Pilgrims’ Inn, Hope House, Salvation Army, Carolina Community Action, and others. Contributions to Grace’s Good Samaritan Fund are administered by the pastor.

Hunger Outreach Program
Starting each September, and continuing through May, Grace and many other Rock Hill churches purchase food, prepare, pack, and deliver approximately 200 meals to needy adults and children in Rock Hill every day. Grace does this on the first Thursday and Friday of each month. We need about 14 people each month to accomplish this project. Part of this ministry also includes working with other Rock Hill churches in providing and preparing a Christmas Dinner for the needy.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Grace members knit shawls to give to those who are sick or in need of comfort. Prayer shawls are a physical reminder that we are held in the loving arms of God! Baby blankets are also presented to newly baptized infants. Shawls are also shared with Hospice patients in the community.
Bereavement Committee
Members of the Grace community provide and deliver food to bereaved members and their families.
